Wedding Recap
OK, I'm feeling brave.
My mother's wedding, in all honesty, was an event I'd rather have avoided.
My first reason was that it happened less than two months after my parents were officially divorced. Went a little too fast for me.
Second, my mother announced me this amazing news less than a month ago. Again, a little too fast for me.
Third, I was kinda sorta in another country at that time, and I REALLY didn't feel like going back and forth to France just for a week-end. Did I ever mention how annoying night trains are? Flying was not an option, it would go against my green principles.
Fourth, I'm against marriage altogether. If you love someone, then I don't believe you need someone with a stern voice telling you that, officially, you are bound by a contract forever.
The idea of the contract ruins the idea of love. Plus, it has nothing definitive at all. After all, whenever you feel like it, you can walk away. It's hard, but you can do it. So, again, no point.
If you're religious (I'm not, but I understand why some people are), then I believe that God gave you His blessing to be together the moment he allowed you to meet the One. You don't need some guy dressed in black to add his blessing to that.
Finally, I don't believe that love lasts forever.
So, not really interested in marriage altogether, and especially in that one. However, I went anyway, in the interest of keeping good relations with my mother, and because it gave me an occasion to see a bunch of people I never get to see (and to wear a nice skirt and shirt).

Hmm, yes, good, read everything.
I do hope you simply had a good time after all though :)
